Description
Started to dabble in Photoshop again. Hopefully I can find time to continue dabbling.
The next stop on our trip around the periodic table is Beryllium.
Here is some info about Beryllium:
Its name is derived from the Greek 'beryl,' which means 'to become pale'.
In nature, it can be found only in combination with other elements. It is a component of the gemstones aquamarine and emerald.
Beryllium was previously known as 'glucinium,' which was derived from the Greek word for sweet (beryllium salts are sweet tasting).
Beryllium metal is very toxic. So tasting beryllium salts to see if they taste sweet is a bad idea.
Despite its toxicity, beryllium has many useful applications, from X-ray windows to parts for missles and spacecraft.
Info gathered from Periodictable.com and Wikipedia.
